The North Beach Preservation Alliance was formed to create an alliance of  stewards to preserve and protect the "last 12 miles" of beach where the paved road ends in Corolla, north to the Virginia line.    This small stretch of sand nestled between the Currituck Sound and Atlantic Ocean is home to full time residents,  over 100 wild horses, a host of waterfowl, sea turtle nesting sites, all sharing a diverse and fragile eco system with tens of thousands of visitors each year.  NBPA is dedicated to working with  residents, property owners, non-profits, service providers, county leadership and visitors to ensure these last 12 miles are cared for in ways that will preserve and protect its unique and diverse beauty so it can be enjoyed for generations to come.
