Join us this Thursday 7/30 at 10am at MP20 for a special edition of Beach Talks about the Corolla Wild Horses

TURTLE TRACKS
The sea turtle nesting season has officially begun, and turtles are showing up on the 4x4.
Please exercise extreme caution when driving on the beach, especially at night when female turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. Early risers may also spot turtle tracks in the sand during the morning hours. If you encounter a sea turtle or discover a nest, contact the 24-hour N.E.S.T. hotline at 252-441-8622.
Also, remember to turn off exterior lights whenever possible and support our dark sky initiatives to help protect nesting turtles and hatchlings. For more information visit nestobx.org

BEACH TALKS
WEDNESDAYs At 10am
We recently kicked off our Wednesday Beach Talks series with a Turtle Talk, followed by a shell painting session. Both events were a big hit with kids and families. Upcoming talks include beach safety, the Corolla horses, local wildlife, and more. Bring the family (and a chair) and join us Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. on the beach in front of the Wash Woods Station (MP20).
While you're out on the beach, be sure to look for our NBPA tent and our Beach Ambassador volunteers in bright yellow vests. We love meeting both our residents and visitors, so please stop by and say hello!

FLOat DONATIONS
Most visitors don’t realize that home rental companies are required to dispose of pool floats between guest turnovers—meaning they are popped and thrown away after only limited use.NBPA is launching a reuse program to help change that. We’ll collect your gently used pool floats and make them available free to visitors through the Beach Ambassador Program. How to Donate:Contact: alliance@thelasttwelvemiles.com to arrange pickupDrop-off: Any Beach Ambassador tent.Every donation helps reduce landfill waste while enhancing the visitor experience. Thank you for supporting the North Beach community!
PHOTO SUBMISSIONS
Help us tell the story of The Last 12 Miles.
We’re looking for photos that truly capture the spirit, beauty, and character of the 4x4 beaches that make this stretch so special—from wild horses and natural dunes to quiet shorelines and everyday moments that reflect life here.
Selected photos will be featured on our website and in future community updates as we continue to highlight and preserve this unique coastal environment.
Please send your submissions to alliance@thelasttwelvemiles.com, along with your name and a brief description of your photo.
Show us what The Last 12 Miles means to you.
